We arrived on site early on Thursday as usual and it was so peaceful lol, it was dry and bright as it would be most of the weekend, Thursday and Friday was the usual set up and get ready period. the Rock and Roll show was never intended to be a car show so we didn't really expect to see that many cars on site, and never to the scale of any of the National Shows, So its always nice to be there early and see what vehicles do appear.
Friday night kicked of with Lou and Ant's Jukebox Disco playing rock and roll hits until 10.30pm preparing everyone for the fun to come. (PIC)
Saturday was a quiet day on the show field as usual, with the main show day being Sunday, but it still managed to attract quite a bit of first class metal (PICS) Saturday night saw the first of the bands hit the stage 'The Toni Sheridan Trio' and boy did they manage to keep the crowd happy (PICS)
And then all to soon it was show day, the day started cloudy which always keeps the numbers down but as it went on it really began to pick up, This was enhanced by the bands who played directly to the show field, It gave a wonderful atmosphere as people walked around or just sat and watched. 'My Mate Kate' a brilliant new band, kept the people well entertained for some of the afternoon, covering songs from a wide variety of era's and also some of their own stuff (PIC), And of course Colin Gold kept everyone happy with his magical voice, he even played a few songs with a couple of people from the original Billy Fury's Backing group 'Fury's Tornado's' (PIC) The bands were followed by the Awards (PICS) which I always enjoy as it brings the Best of the Best to the front of the field, Colin preformed another set before it was time to wrap up for the afternoon. After what seemed like minutes it was time for the evenings entertainment, Lou and Ant kick Started the night warming up the crowd ready for the final band of the weekend the amazing 'Class of 58' In my opinion this was one of the highlights of the weekend, This family band were absolutely brilliant, keeping everyone Rocking and Rolling well into the night. Monday was the usual pack up and chill out day and then all to soon the show drew to a close, I for one had a wonderful weekend and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who made it happen.
